On the evening of july 15, 2024, a derecho brought very strong winds, several tornadoes, and heavy rainfall to a good portion of the midwest.

With that said, the derecho on july 15, 2024 was still an impressive and prolific tornado event as it remains rare for an individual storm event to produce more. A storm that almost met derecho criteria occurred just this past weekend in kansas and missouri.
